As Director of Income and Engagement my job is to bring in the money and make sure everyone knows about us!

It costs us £6million every year to care for our children and young people at the hospice and with just a small amount coming from the government, we rely heavily on supporters both in the community and businesses.

One of the most rewarding parts of my role is showing supporters exactly how their generous donations are being spent and making them understand just how much of a difference they are making to our children’s lives.

As a former journalist, I love telling the stories of our children and showing the world what a joyful and positive place Derian House is. I pride myself on getting our message across in a creative way – in words, pictures and video.

I have more than 20 years’ experience of working in the media, in journalism and communications roles, and juggle a busy work life with an equally busy home life as mum to James and Robyn.

I consider it an honour and a privilege to work at Derian House, alongside some of the most inspirational people I have ever met.
