LEYLAND-BASED plant and machine supplier, Clive Hurt (part of the Fox Group), is raising money for Derian House Children’s Hospice with its eye-catching new road sweeper.
Clive Hurt Plant Hire Ltd named Derian House as its charity of the year and is supporting the children’s hospice in a unique way by transforming the design of one of its road sweepers.
The new-look road sweeper sees the company swap its well-known yellow and black branding for a multi-coloured and fun design.
The road sweeper is affectionately named Danni after the Derian House mascot, and was designed in-house by the charity.
Derian House Children’s Hospice looks after more than 400 children and young people with life-limiting conditions from across the North West. Care is free for families, but services cost £5million to run every year. With only 12 per cent of funding coming from the government, the charity relies heavily on the generosity of its supporters and corporate partners.
Caroline Barnes, Director at Clive Hurt Plant Hire Ltd said: “Clive Hurt Plant Hire is honoured to be able to support Derian House, a local charity who work so hard to give children the best possible chance of making memories with their families and to support them through the toughest of times.
“We have always wanted to do a charity vehicle and through this raise money for a local charity, so when the opportunity arose, we jumped at taking on the project. More so at this crucial time where, due to COVID, a lot of funding has been lost due to fundraising events not being able to take place.”
Clive Hurt Plant Hire is also a member of the Derian House Corporate Connect Club, a new venture which sees businesses setting up regular monthly donations to the children’s hospice.
Sara Eltman, Corporate Partnerships Manager at Derian House said: “We are delighted to be working in partnership with the team at Clive Hurt Plant Hire, and Danni the road sweeper has really captured everyone’s imagination. It is such a brilliant idea to raise awareness and funds for Derian and we are all excited to see the sweeper out and about around the local area. We’re grateful for the generous support from Clive Hurt Plant Hire, and for putting a smile on all our faces with this amazing initiative.”
