A forest of twinkling lights brought joy to poorly children thanks to a generous donation by a North West-based construction company.
Caddick Construction Ltd supported Derian House Children’s Hospice by sponsoring its Trees of Love Christmas campaign with a £3,000 donation.
150 Christmas trees lit up the hospice gardens for the entire month of December and, in return for a donation, the Chorley charity invited members of the local community to dedicate a tree to their loved ones.
The Trees of Love fundraising campaign raised a total of £11,341.47 for the charity, which looks after 450 children with life-limiting conditions and their families from across the North West, as well as delighting children staying at the hospice.
Mick Croskery, Fundraising Manager at Derian House Children’s Hospice, said: “We’re so grateful to Caddick Construction for supporting Trees of Love, we couldn’t have put on the wonderful display at the hospice and also raised vital funds to help us continue caring for our children and families without their generosity. Trees of Love is more than just a fundraising event, it’s a way for local people to support our children and families while giving them something amazing to experience over the festive period.”
Michelle Swarbrick, North West Framework Scholarship Manager at Caddick, said: “It has been wonderful to sponsor the Derian House Trees of Love and to be a part of the incredible work the charity does. We hope the trees brought smiles to everyone who visited the charity’s gardens in December and are thrilled that it helped raise so much money for such a worthy cause.”
