Fasten your seatbelts for Supercar Showtime, the exclusive event that showcases the UK’s greatest supercars to raise money for Derian House Children’s Hospice.
This year, the supercar spectacle promises 150 examples including classic supercars of yesteryear through to modern day hypercars, with rare and unique models from Porsche, Ferrari, Lamborghini, Aston Martin, and many more.
With headline sponsorship from Porsche Centre Bolton, and further event sponsors including Lamborghini Manchester, Amari Supercars, Hepplestone Fine Art, Lloyd BMW Blackpool, Ribby Hall Village, AB Sundecks, Becketts Wealth Management, Shepherds Boat Sales, TVR Car Club, Gillet Environmental, Lee Mayor Restorations, D&G Builders & Joiners and MBW Europe, the event promises to bring the local community together to enjoy a day to remember.
The family-friendly event takes place on Sunday, 12th June from 10am until 3pm at Hoghton Tower. Attractions on the day will include live music, simulated racing and guided house tours, plus a food village and tea rooms. Café Le Mans, the events hospitality area, will also present a catwalk fashion show from Chorley-based boutique Chic Happens, resident DJ, a pop-up art gallery and a charity auction with motoring experiences and merchandise, holiday breaks and yacht charters up for grabs.
Supercar Showtime, which is returning for its fourth year after a break during COVID, is expected to be a sell-out and organisers are reminding the public to make sure they buy tickets in advance given limited event capacity. More than 5,000 people attended the last Supercar Showtime in 2019 to see 120 cars and helped to raise more than £45,000 for the charity.
All funds raised go to Derian House Children’s Hospice, the charity that provides specialist palliative, respite and end-of-life care for children and young adults throughout the North West.
The supercar event, first held in 2017, is organised by husband and wife team and Derian community ambassadors, Nick and Karen Isherwood, who live in Chorley with their two children.
Nick Isherwood said: “Supercar Showtime was first held in a pub car park. I had been enjoying the occasional supercar meeting with friends, but knew that collectively we could do more to showcase amazing cars that often stay hidden away from the public eye, whilst at the same time creating an opportunity for owners to give back to charity. We were amazed by the turnout to our first event and funds raised.”
“We wanted to associate with a charity that really played a pivotal role in our local community and knowing about the incredible environment that Derian House creates for children and young adults with complex needs, it seemed a perfect fit. You just never know what’s going to happen to you in life, and Derian House is there for families that need it most. Our first Supercar Showtime event was so well received we decided to move to a bigger venue and from there it went from strength to strength.”
Since the first event in 2017 the team at Supercar Showtime and key sponsors have raised more than £100,000 for the children and families of Derian House Children’s Hospice.
Karen Isherwood said: “We’re so fortunate to be supported by local and national businesses to make this event possible and would like to thank Hoghton Tower for helping us to host our events along with all of our volunteers, particularly Rachel Waite our auction manager. It’s just a great day out, plus you’re making a direct difference to local families.”
Mick Croskery, Fundraising Manager at Derian House, said: “It’s great to see that Supercar Showtime is back with a bang. We’re so thankful to organisers and our community ambassadors, Nick and Karen, for their dedication and the effort they put into pulling such a huge event together. It’s only down to events such as these that we are able to continue caring for children with life-limiting conditions from across the North West now and in the future.”
