The Mall Blackburn has donated shelving, fixtures, and fittings to kit out Derian House charity shops across Lancashire.
Taken from The Mall’s now empty Debenhams store, the shop fittings are being distributed among the charity’s six existing shops in Blackburn, Leyland, Horwich, Adlington, Chorley and Preston, as well as furnishing two new shops planned for Accrington and Bury.
Caroline Taylor, Head of Income, Marketing and Communications at Derian House Children’s Hospice, said: “This generous donation from The Mall has made a huge difference to our charity shops overall.
“They’ve given us the equivalent of £15,000 in fixtures and fittings, which makes the shops look even more professional than before, and has brought more flexibility in displaying the fantastic items we have for sale. We stock a wide range of goods including furniture, white goods, electricals, lots of clothing, toys and more.
“The Mall could probably have sold off these fixtures for a profit, but donating them to us shows an incredible level of support for our work, for which we are so grateful.”
Loraine Jones, General Manager at The Mall Blackburn, added: “Derian House Children’s Hospice provides respite and end-of-life care to children and young people across the whole of the North West, and their work is invaluable to the families that rely on them.
“We plan to support Derian House however we possibly can this year – and beyond – with fundraising events and more. I’m glad that this donation of fixtures and fittings is already proving so useful in bolstering the continuing success of their charity shops.”
Look out for ‘Designers at Derian’ in the charity’s flagship stores – big brand labels at great value prices.
